About Apna 90s
Apna 90s is a set of places from 1990s India that you can stand in. Pick one and it starts playing. A drawing room on a Doordarshan Sunday, a barber’s shop with the radio on, more coming. The clock on the wall of every room shows the real time in India, and in the rooms that kept a schedule, what plays changes with the hour the way it once did.
Where the music comes from
Every song plays from YouTube, in YouTube’s own player. Nothing is hosted here and nothing is downloadable from here. We do not store, stream or serve any audio or video ourselves. If a video is removed from YouTube it stops working here too, which is the honest consequence of not holding a copy.
Song details — the title, the film, the year, the singers, the composer — are facts about recordings. The rooms, the writing, the schedule and everything else on the site are ours.
Who we are not
Apna 90s is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Prasar Bharati or Doordarshan, or any broadcaster, label or rights holder. Programme names from that era are used to describe what people remember, not to suggest any association. Any trademark belongs to its owner.
It is also not connected to any other site in this genre. It is a separate thing, made separately.
Corrections
Some of the schedule is certainly wrong. It was reconstructed from what people remember and from what could be checked, and memory disagrees with itself more than anyone expects. If you know what actually aired and when, tell us and we will fix it. That is the most useful thing anyone can send us.
